Accolade Construction (Pty) Ltd effectively continues the legacy of the original Company, which had been operating since 1958 as BC Bouers (BC Building and Civil Contractors). The name change in 2002 saw Accolade Construction brand itself under the Accolade banner, but assuming full responsibility for all prior BC contracts, rights and guarantees underwritten by BC. All BC personnel remained on board, continuing the excellent workmanship that forms part of Accolade's legacy. (See NHBRC under "Accolades" for the award received, confirming our claim to quality).

Continuing the Legacy
Although an integral part of the Accolade Property Group, Accolade Construction operates independently, and has also been involved in the construction of a number of other projects with other successful Developers.

While Accolade Construction has found a niche in the middle and up-market residential sector, the directors and staff have all been individually or collectively involved in numerous other commercial type projects around the country.

NHBRC
Accolade Construction is registered with the National Homebuilders Registration Council (NHBRC) and consequently build to their prescribed standards, all of which were established to protect the consumer. The NHBRC is a statutory body that acts as a housing consumer protection body working in partnership with responsible homebuilders to maintain and improve the quality of all newly constructed homes in South Africa.

The NHBRC's mission is firstly to protect housing consumers by establishing, implementing and regulating quality standards in the home building industry and secondly to establish a warranty fund and to provide assistance to housing consumers under circumstances where homebuilders fail to meet their obligations. NHBRC Award
In 2006 Accolade Construction was voted Builder of the Year Runner Up after a selection and intense scrutiny process by the NHBRC in Gauteng. This award is a massive honour and testimony to the definition of the word "Accolade" - "strong praise or approval" "an award or honour".
